You would think ford would have a car ready to replce the crown vic before they took it out of service. It seems a little dumb to me . Also in the city I live in the police are going to a dodge car to replace the vic. I think ford is making a big mistake. No wonder the auto makers are losing money.

I thought the Crown Vic was a clunker until I bought one in 04. With a V8 engine I get 24 miles per gallon using regular gas. For a big car this was surprising. It is very comfortable and roomy, and on long drives very smooth. I suppose people who ride in the back of the police cruisers don’t care one way or another. John, right now Ford is the only one making money. They came to their senses when they re-commissioned the Taurus and improved the quality of their other models. Even the focus looks good. As a car for cops to just drive around in they can do so without hogging the road like they do in the Crown vic.

There are not too many cars you can name from the West Coast that are famous for street racing, but here is one of them. It is the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona that is one of three that were supposedly given by Chrysler to Big Willie Robinson and his wife Tomiko to help them promote the Brotherhood of Street Racers in Los Angeles, which was actually an organization designed to keep kids away from other crime. Big Willie also opened the legendary Terminal Island drag strip under the Brotherhood name.

We found this car listed on eBay with information that states it is a factory 440-powered car that was at one time raced with a Hemi and a Clutchflite. The hood scoop has ties to the movie Two Lane Blacktop that featured another Daytona with this same hood. Big Willie was famous for a magazine ad for American Racing Wheels, but the car in that ad photo is not the same one as this.

This is the first shot inside the cabin of the 2011 Dodge Charger. As you can see, it's a definite step up from the current model although that's not saying much. Thankfully, Chrysler's designers didn't go too far overboard with the revamp as it all looks like pretty tasteful stuff.

This prototype was also missing the small piece of camouflage that concealed the C-pillar in previous photos. As you can see after the jump, this Charger will have a slightly different profile than the current model, more like the concept that appeared — and then disappeared – so many years ago.
