It seems everyone is jumping on the green bandwagon these days, and for that reason I find the Dodge Charger R/T very refreshing. As a traditionally American sedan – in the sense that it’s large, rear-wheel-drive, and powered by a V8 – it makes no apologies, nor does it try to mask its muscle car genes in order to be politically correct. My friends and I often lamented that we weren’t around during the muscle car era. I find the 2010 Dodge Charger R/T appealing because it melds the passion of that era with modern improvements in safety, comfort, and fuel economy.
Even if the Charger’s popularity has lessened its ability to turn heads, its bodywork gives it a commanding presence. The grill and headlights stare menacingly toward the horizon. The bulging rear fenders and dual exhaust deliberately announce the Charger’s brawn. From all angles it issues an overt challenge to everybody else on the road. It’s no sports car, but it wasn’t meant to be. It’s a muscle car that doubles as a family sedan – a terrific combination.
